Strengthening Communities: Passport To Health & Employment

This is a project specifically to help unemployed and economically inactive people into employment, training or job search (participants must be permitted to work within the UK). BPRCVS is looking for participants to take part for a minimum of 12 weeks, for a commitment of 6 hours minimum per week.

How It Works & What We Do

We sign up participants and allocate a dedicated volunteer mentor to each participant who helps with their wellbeing; joining them on a socially distanced walk each week and having a chat, or going for a coffee to talk (whatever is suitable/permitted with current Covid-19 regulations).

Participants will also meet with their dedicated advisor for a couple of hours each week to chat about what they have been doing in the previous week and if they met the goals that have been set. We will focus on small, weekly increases in goals to develop an ongoing action plan which aims to achieve the desired outcome.

Participants follow a weekly plan including training and employability skills sessions to attend including, but not limited to; accredited training, access to volunteering with development to help progress, as well as guest speakers. Whatever they need to get onto that next step.

Weekly sessions will be held at The CVS Centre, Yorkshire Street, Burnley.

We tailor a bespoke package according to the needs of each participant. If they need to gain confidence and the progression is for them to leave the house, start volunteering and then move onto some training, that is what we would aim to achieve. If a participant is pretty much job ready, but need coaching in CV writing or interview techniques, etc. we will help with that and support them to get a job. Even if they needed support with someone meeting them after an interview to talk through it, we will support there too.

Action For Jobs

If a participant needs more than the 12 weeks, it could be extended. This is about the person, and we fit the project around them rather than fitting the participant into it.

If you have anyone who would fit these criteria and is looking to get into work, education or training please contact Lisa Ross on 01282 433740 or email This email address is being protected from spambots.
