Christmas Day Meal At Gannow Community Centre

Over 40 people given a Christmas Day meal

On the 25th of December 2017 many individuals, families, organisations and businesses came together to provide something very wonderful for the most isolated and homeless in our community.

Thanks to you and your support it was possible to provide a Christmas Day to remember for many of who would spend the day alone, or in the wet and cold conditions in Burnley and Pendle.

Thanks to your donations over 40 individuals received a three course Christmas dinner in a warm and welcoming environment. Incredibly due to your generosity we were also able to provide food to a further 20 individuals at the Elizabeth Street Project in Burnley, a homeless shelter for both individuals and families. As well as this those who attended the event for a meal were able to take away a food parcel with them if they required.

Amazingly over 20 people gave up time on their Christmas day to volunteer at the event, and ensure many others felt some kind of Christmas spirit, as well as this we were surprised by a visit from the Mayor and Mayoress of Burnley, who were hugely impressed with the amount of effort and support the community had provided.

In true Christmas fashion, we were able to provide all individuals who attended the meal a Christmas present, which brought a lot of happiness and smiles to the room.

Below is a list of the wonderful people, organisations and businesses that helped support our cause.
