What's On At Gannow

A wide range of groups and activities taking place

Gannow Community Centre is growing from strength to strength offering a wide and varied range of groups. We've got Arts & Crafts, Young at Heart Friendship, Youth Club, Girls Self-Defence, Baby & Toddler Group (described as “The best and most welcoming in the area”), Mental Health & Physical Support, plus a wide range of wellness, meditation and spiritual groups.

Action ASD are also now based here while their regular home is unavailable. On Thursday evenings we have a very special session for adults with learning and physical disabilities that includes a disco, karaoke, pool and arts and crafts.

Burnley Community Church is also based here, also known as “Church On The Streets” and as well as an “open” service every Sunday they hold a bible study group on Monday evenings.

Looking forward it is an exciting period here at Gannow Community Centre with new groups opening up monthly. February and March 2020 will see a great Lads & Dads Cycle Maintance session. From mid-February there will be a new exercise group for people less active which is chair based exercise open to everyone.

For the more energetic youngsters “Masters of Martial Arts" are starting Jiu-Jitsu classes for boys and girls aged 7-16. They hope to expand the sessions to a 'Little Dragons' group (suitable for 4-6 year olds).

As the weather improves our community garden should be opened just before Easter and we are looking for volunteers who like to grow vegetables and enjoy plants.

If you're interested in any of these groups or opportunities and would like more information please contact the centre on 01282 436396.
