Burnley Community Church

A new Christian Church coming to Gannow

Burnley Community Church is a church with a difference. As part of the Church on the Streets Ministry they help and support people affected by homelessness and addiction. Predominantly the church has been working on the streets of Burnley town centre working with a number of homeless persons and those suffering with addiction. Burnley Community Church has been operating around Burnley town centre for the last 6 months.

Burnley Community Church is a standard Christian Church with regular weekly Sunday services, but with proactive community action on the streets. When working on the streets they find people suffering from homelessness and give them some food and have a chat. Similarly they talk and support addicts to overcome their addiction. The church operates a foodbank too.

The church’s congregation has been steadily growing with new members joining all the time. The growth of the congregation has enabled the church to set up a regular Sunday service at Gannow Community Centre. The first service in Gannow was Sunday 7th April 2019. Now based in Gannow you will see Pastor Mick Fleming and members of his congregation around the Gannow area helping people in need.

The Sunday service is a regular church service which runs from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. As a community church, members volunteer to pick up others who cannot drive and would otherwise struggle to attend services. Tea and coffee is provided for free at the service.

Later this year the church is launching a Recovery Church that will operate once a month starting June 2019. The Recovery Church will work with local people recovering from addiction.
