Busy Times At Gannow Drop-in Café

Serving up a tasty treat

Gannow Community Centre’s new Drop-in Café is proving very popular since it’s official launch on 9th January 2019.

Staffed exclusively by BPRCVS volunteers it has steadily grown from offering simple bacon butties on Wednesdays and Fridays to, what is fast becoming, the bargain breakfast of the year!

For just £2 (YES £2 – this is not a typing error) you can have any 5 items from bacon, sausage, egg, tomato, beans, mushroom and black pudding plus free toast. Add a cuppa costing just 50p and for £2.50 you are sorted for the day.

The Drop in Café has now introduced our special lunch from 11:30 a.m. on Fridays also costing just £2. In weekly rotation there is cottage pie, sausage and mash, corned beef hash, stew and dumplings, giant Yorkshire puddings with a filling of beef/chicken baguettes to choose from. A vegetarian option will be offered soon.

We've recently had our food hygiene and safety check conducted by Burnley Borough Council. The Gannow Community Centre kitchen is officially a 5 star rated kitchen!

You can play a free game of pool or browse the books and DVDs on offer to take away with you.

Our Gannow Food Share (non means tested) is offered for those in need on Fridays between 10 a.m. and 12 noon.  You can collect a bag of basic groceries (subject to availability) to help anyone in need over the weekend.

The wonderful people at Bookers Wholesale, Burnley FC in the Community and Warburton’s support the Food Share, Without their help it would not be possible.

Come on down and get your breakfast – you can even take your tea away with you on a Friday!
