Coronavirus Volunteer Support

Burnley, Pendle and Rossendale CVS has been responding to the Covid-19 crisis since March. Volunteers have been a hugely important part of our response and we would like to take this opportunity to say thank you very much for all your hard work, dedication and selfless acts of kindness in these challenging times.

We still have a long way to go though and the continued support of volunteers is crucial to ensuring communities don't suffer any more than they need to.

Some of the roles we have available include shopping, delivering food, collecting and delivering prescriptions, dog walking, befriending, admin, and more. If we don't have the role you're looking for we will do our very best to see if there are any other groups and organisations that require the support you're offering.

We're open to all enquiries from volunteers regardless of your background and skills. Anybody can help out at a time like this. Unfortunately we can't utilise volunteers under 18 years old.

If you would like to volunteer in Burnley, Pendle or Rossendale please contact Lisa, BPRCVS Volunteer Coordinator, by emailing This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or call our main office on 01282 433740.

Full training and support will be provided to anyone who volunteers for the Response Team and expenses will be reimbursed. We have a policy in place which makes every effort to ensure that BPRCVS offices, buildings, staff and volunteers are as protected as possible in an attempt to reduce exposure to the virus.

We have had a fantastic response from people in our communities and the support is greatly appreciated by residents so step up and make a difference.

Volunteers For Other Groups & Organisations

Groups and organisations which require volunteers can also get in touch with us and we will make every effort to find you the most suitable volunteers for your project or service. We can help with basic training needs and DBS checks too.

Our NCVO Accredited Volunteer Centre brokerage service is still fully operational.

From the launch of the Coronavirus Volunteer Response Team we've had over 800 requests to volunteer across the three regions. As part of our service to you we will look at redeploying some of these volunteers to your organisation so you can begin, continue or even expand your projects and services.

To discuss your volunteer needs please contact Lisa Ross by emailing This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or call the main office on 01282 433740.

This is a crisis of the kind we haven't seen in generations and we need your help and so does your community. Let's get together and show a strength of support during challenging and frightening times.
