BPRCVS Covid-19 Service Update

Burnley, Pendle and Rossendale Council for Voluntary Service remains open for business as usual although our centres and offices are now closed to the public in line with UK Government advice.

The VCF sector is obviously taking a substantial hit at the moment and we are seeing many groups and organisations being forced to cancel or postpone their projects and services, activities, events and regular local groups.

This web page will detail all of BPRCVS' projects and services that have been affected by Coronavirus outbreak:

Group Support - If groups are still wanting support staff are available to deliver, but this will not likely be in the form of a face-to-face meeting until further notice.

Group Meetings & Events - All group meetings and events have been postponed until further notice. Where projects deliver support sessions to groups of persons these will be replaced with 1-1s instead.

Social Prescribing Team - The team is still working and operational however we won't be doing home visits until further notice. We will complete initial assessments over the phone and provide support over the phone for the foreseeable future. Please be assured that we will remain committed to delivering an excellent service and providing support as appropriate on a client-by-client basis.

Cliviger Community Benefit Fund - This fund hasn't opened for 2020 yet and the opening is likely to be delayed until the crisis is averted.

Eric Wright Charitable Trust Small Grants Programme - This fund has been closed for applications until the end of April when the situation will be reviewed again.

East Lancashire Clinical Commissioning Group Prescription For Wellbeing Funding Programme - The remaining funds available for Rossendale groups has been suspended until further notice. All current funded projects have been asked to close their projects by 20th March 2020 and to submit their final reports by the end of April 2020. All funded groups will have received an email explaining the circumstances and the next steps to follow.

Communicars - Due to the nature of our volunteer drivers being predominantly within the 'at risk' group of people, many have taken the understandable decision to self-isolate. As such Communicars is still endeavouring to provide a service to those who need it. Please continue to book Communicars as normal and we will do our absolute best to accommodate you.

Gannow Community Centre - The latest Government advice is to close community centres so we have followed that decision by closing the centre to the public. We will still have staff working from there to continue delivering the food share programme.

Gannow Community Centre Food Share - The food share scheme is still open as normal. The same process applies. It operates on a first come, first served basis and there is a short form to fill in at the centre. For more information on the food share please call 01282 436396 and ask for Alan Barnes. The centre also has some sanitary provisions too.

All other projects and services are operating as normal where possible. All of our offices and centres are now closed to the public. We appreciate your understanding during these challenging circumstances.
