What is the Volunteer Centre trust mark?

The Volunteer Centre brand is a National Council of Voluntary Organisations (NCVO) ‘trust mark’ that is a guarantee of consistent quality, of which is demonstrated through ‘Volunteer Centre Quality Accreditation.’ There are 5 core functions that every Volunteer Centre must deliver:

Core function 1 – Strategic Development of Volunteering: Outcome: Through the activity of the Volunteer Centre and its engagement with local networks and decision makers there is a positive environment in which volunteering is flourishing.

Core function 2 – Good Practice Development: Outcome:  Through the activity of the Volunteer Centre, organisations from all sectors (involving or providing volunteers) improve or attain positive consistency in their volunteering programmes.

Core function 3 – Developing Volunteering Opportunities: Outcome: The Volunteer Centre Development Activity increases and improves the quantity, quality and diversity of volunteering locally.

Core function 4 – Voice of Volunteering: Outcome: Through the Volunteer Centre’s activities there is an increased awareness of the issues impacting on volunteering.

Core function 5 – Brokerage: Outcome: Through the Volunteer Centre’s activities, the general public and all sectors are better informed about and have the access to an effective and efficient brokerage service.

Here at BPRCVS we continuously have a number of voluntary opportunities right here at the CVS Centre for our various projects. We also publicise and promote voluntary opportunities on behalf of organisations and groups situated throughout Burnley, Pendle and Rossendale. So if you're aiming to get started in volunteering look no further than the BPRCVS Volunteer Centre.

In addition to our typical Volunteer Centre work we are currently running a number of projects that are aimed at helping and supporting people through volunteering. If you've been out of work for some time or haven't been able to work due to long-term illness or disability BPRCVS can help. Our Strengthening Communities - Volunteering In Lancashire project is designed to help provide an identifiable pathway into employment, training or education and we will support you along the way which is a lot more than any JobCentre will do for you. Don't delay, change your life today and get involved.
