BPRCVS Volunteers Win Award

For their work delivering Oximeters

On the evening of Monday 21st September the HSJ Awards Ceremony took place. The Covid Virtual Ward, of which BPRCVS volunteers have been involved with Oximeter delivery, was up for an award.

As a vital part of the team, BPRCVS volunteers won the award for their work delivering Oximeters to those self-isolating having tested positive for coronavirus.

Congratulations Peter and the rest of the volunteer team on winning the award!

Elizabeth Fleming of NHS East Lancashire Clinical Commissioning Group said, "I sat next to Peter and it was great to hear first hand from Peter as volunteer driver. It’s a vital part of the service, and from an operational perspective the volunteer drivers often have the flexibility that is not there with paid for bank staff.

"We are very grateful for people’s personal commitment and inputs to make the Covid Virtual Ward a successful service for our patients.

"Great that the partnership got the recognition through this award."

Karen Henderson, of ELCCG, said, "representatives from the CVW, including Peter Steen, attended the awards ceremony and we won the HSJ award for the CVW entry.

"It has been a brilliant piece of work and would not have been possible without amazing team work and personal commitment from many, including BPRCVS, and we just want to say a personal thank you to you and the team for all of your involvement and support.

"Please could you pass our thanks on to all the team, and particularly to Peter for joining us at the event."
