Young Carers Out Of School Activities

It's end of term again and Young Carers have been busy providing a range of activities for the young carers to take part in.

Young carers need a break from their normal lives of caring for loved ones. With term being over at school for a couple of weeks Young Carers have put on a number of different activities for the children to take part in.

On 1st April 2017 Young Carers went to Dropzone Trampoline Park for an hour. Many thanks to Dropzone for the charitable discount they provided.

The 5th April 2017 saw the young carers go to the cinema to watch the remake of the Disney classic, Beauty and the Beast. All young carers received a party bag with popcorn, drinks, chocolates and sweets. The film was thoroughly enjoyed by all.

On the 10th April 2017 the young carers were taken Canadian Canoeing along the Leeds and Liverpool Canal. This was a free activity provided by the Canal and Rivers trust. Activities included: team building activities, learning how to tie different knots in the ropes, strapping 2 canoes together to make a raft, building a sail, and cannoned through Gannow Tunnel (first group to do this).

The 12th April the young carers went to Thornton Hall Farm which included: feeding lambs; petting small animals, lamas and horses; a caterpillar ride; outdoor play equipment; and lunch. Many thanks to the Farm for a charity discount.
