New Year, New Learning

BPRCVS have been busy delivering a variety of training courses and information sessions throughout January. We’ve had excellent numbers in attendance for every course and session hosted this month. Have a look at what you've missed out on...

Interested in transferring assets from Lancashire County Council?

Our Asset Transfer information session proved highly popular and was fully booked in next to no time with 18 organisations and 21 people in attendance. The purpose of this information session was to inform people of the availability of assets, in the form of buildings, from Lancashire County Council and Burnley Borough Council. Due to recent government cutbacks there are a number of assets that are available for transfer. This information session was developed to cover the aspects of an asset transfer and educate people about the process. It’s not as easy as popping into an estate agents and making an offer! Keep your eyes open on the Training page of the website and on Twitter for updates about when this information session may run again. It proved very popular and those in attendance found it extremely useful and informative.

Are you struggling to get good press coverage?

We hosted a course entitled “Getting Good Press Coverage For Your Fundraising Campaign” on behalf of Localgiving.com. This training course was delivered by external providers, Localgiving.com and Yellow Jigsaw. Between them the course delivered several learning outcomes. This course focused on storytelling and how to sell your story and create winning campaigns. Additionally the course delivered insights into digital communications and online fundraising.  This course was excellently delivered to a packed room of eager learners looking to maximise their groups’ effectiveness with fundraising campaigns.

Short of money?

You should have come to the Lloyds TSB and Big Lottery information session about their funding and grants schemes.
These sessions always prove popular as these organisations provide fantastic sources of funds and grants for community voluntary groups and charitable organisations. A representative from each delivered an informative speech about their respective funding and grants opportunities. These sessions are unique as we enable attendees of the session to pre-book one-to-one appointments with the representatives from Lloyds TSB and Big Lottery to discuss funding in more detail and specific to their case.

A New Year... a new you?

Our ever popular Health Champions In The Community course is back and started today. This five week course looks at how to make positive, healthier lifestyle choices and understand public health messages. This course teaches behaviour change techniques and also teaches how to promote and encourage positive change. You can even become an official level 2 accredited Health Champion with the course.
