Refugee Peace Garden

Work has started in Thompson Park

On 28th August local volunteers, two of our refugees from Syria, and the BPRCVS ESOL Coordinator, Allison Lindgren, have started work on small section of Thompson Park to plant a refugee peace garden. They started out with planting various flower bulbs and then dug out an area and planted a rowan tree. Over the course of the year the refugees will be clearing out overgrowth and weeds, painting, planting more flowers, and adding benches so that the public and wildlife can enjoy the new space in the park.
