Bea Foster

Local authority representative appointed by Burnley Borough Council

I became involved with BPRCVS in May 2016 and was appointed by Burnley Borough Council to hold the position of local authority representative.

I have 40 years of experience working with communities as a Professional Youth and Community worker.

I have been a member, governor and/or trustee of the following organisations:

Hameldon Governor – 10 years

Cherry Fold Governor – 4 years

Pennine Community farm – Trustee 10 years

Vanguard Community Centre – Trustee 8 years

Building Bridges in Burnley – Trustee 1 year

West End Interest Company (Stoops and Hargher Clough Community Centre) – Director 3 years

Councillor with Burnley Borough Council – 8 years

I am a Christian and as such serving is central to my value system. My motivation in life is to enable people of all colours, shapes and sizes to have opportunities so that they may reach their full potential. As a result of this I am involved at all levels in the voluntary sector, which I believe is undervalued by the powers that be, and I am committed to speak out in support of the sector.
