BPRCVS Conference: Why?

Burnley, Pendle & Rossendale CVS Conference: Why?

The very first BPRCVS Conference focuses on Why?

We will explore the nature of the VCF sector and examine why the sector is critical to communities. Together we will look at why community groups are so important, the challenges faced by small, local groups, as well as the benefits and values such groups exude.

Through the use of facilitated, interactive workshops and keynote speakers the conference aims to ask 7 whys? which affect the sector:

  • Why are community groups so important?
  • Why is the future challenging?
  • Why is CVS important to your group?
  • Why did Eric Wright Charitable Trust decide to fund local community groups in Burnley, Pendle and Rossendale?
  • Why did Eric Wright Charitable Trust choose BPRCVS to administer their funding programme?
  • Why does East Lancashire Clinical Commissioning Group want and need to work with VCF groups and infrastructure organisations?
  • Why do you do what you do?

The conference gets underway at 12 p.m. prompt on Thursday 6th June at Prairie Sports Village, Burnley. Lunch will be provided until 1 p.m. with a chance for guests to network with other local groups and organisations while dining. All delegates will receive an information pack upon arrival. Each group and organisation will be invited to add their logo, and one of either a testimonial/case study, promotional poster/flyer, photo, etc. to the community wall upon arrival. More information on this feature will be emailed to registered guests prior to the conference commencing.

Keynote speakers include Michelle Pilling explaining why East Lancashire Clinical Commissioning Group want and need to work with VCF groups and infrastructure organisations and a trustee from the Eric Wright Charitable Trust exploring why the trust decided to fund local community groups in Burnley, Pendle and Rossendale.

The conference will also feature a guest speaker presenting a range of valued funding and fundraising tips and a presentation delivered by a local group.

Why should you attend? This is a chance for you and your group/organisation to have a voice. Network with others facing similar or the same challenges going forward. Develop partnership working opportunities. Discover how leaders and commissioners value groups and organisations such as yours.
