child-trust-logoBurnley Pendle and Rossendale Council for Voluntary Service (CVS) was appointed by Burnley Local Trust Partnership to deliver a small grants programme and assist groups from the voluntary, community and faith (VCF) sector to understand the bigger funding picture as it relates to The Children’s Trust. 

 

Grants of up to £2000 -  have been made available to new and  existing community projects working primarily with children aged between fiive and  thirteen years in Burnley, with the aim being to help communities become involved in delivering projects relating to the five Every Child Matters (ECM) outcomes within a preventative context, with particular reference to the following three aims:

 

  • Improving school attendance

 

  • Raising children’s and young people’s self esteem

 

  • Preventing young people at risk, from becoming involved in criminal activity

 

Between January 2009 and March 2010 the panel distributed a total of £42,395.07 to 21 organisations.  On 23 April 2010 the panel met and distributed £15,675 between 8 organisations. This funding stream is currently closed.
