We work with all voluntary, community, faith groups and individuals in our area and specifically contact BME groups. We have established links with groups such as Burnley Disabled Peoples Network, local Older People’s Forums, East Lancs Service Users Network (Mental Health). As well as the local groups we work with the Lancashire Constabulary’s Hate Crime and Diversity Unit. We are interested in the recent report of the Youth Citizenship Commission and also the Citizenship Foundation Report. For the full report see hyperlink below.

We are raising awareness and provide information to ensure the message of opportunity is received by all sections of the community. This is done by distributing newsletters and publicity materials in venues across the community accessed by the local residents. The project will also be promoted on our regular slot on Pendle Community Radio on Thursday 1.00pm-2.00pm.
We provide mentoring support which involves working with individuals to find a solution to any barriers that people may feel prevent them from becoming involved in community activities. We work with both the community engagement and the neighbourhood management structures to maintain the existing structures already in place.
The Pathfinder project are building on the existing CVS role as a Development Agency to support and promote voluntary action and charitable activity.
We have support from the PCT and we are building on existing relationships with Lancashire Constabulary via their Police and Communities Together meetings and work on their Integrated Offender Management approach. We are also strengthening links with Education-governing bodies and Trusts.
In addition to the work with community empowerment networks both locally and regionally we are working with Neighbourhood Management and community engagement teams in each of the Districts. We are reaffirming our links to the Lancashire Voluntary, Community and Faith Sector Consortium, and the VCFS Lancashire Learning Consortium. We are also linking with NAVCA’s Improving Local Partnerships Team.
