The Centre is located in Yorkshire Street, Burnley, and used to be some of the North West Water offices and depot. Many local people would make regular trips to the building in those days and would still to this day refer to it as "the old Water Board offices" when giving directions to the Centre!

In the late 1990s the building was purchased and refurbished for use as a voluntary sector resource centre with funds awarded by the National Lottery. The major award had been secured by a partnership consortium led by Burnley, Pendle & Rossendale Council for Voluntary Service.

In June 2010, the Centre celebrated its 10th anniversary and held celebration events in recognition of this!

Day to day running of the Centre is taken care of by the Centre Manager and 2 part-time caretakers - and a team of volunteers assist on a daily rota basis with administration support, reception duties and preparation of hire rooms.

People join our volunteer team for many different reasons and whilst some stay for quite a long time, others move on quickly, so new members are always welcome!

The Centre offers room hire and various other services and resources in addition to housing a wide range of voluntary organisations as tenant groups.
